Rocky Mountain Rug Braiders Guild

All about us
The Rocky Mountain Rug Braiders Guild (RMRBG) is a group of braiders located in the Denver and surrounding areas who meet regularly to embrace the craft of rug braiding

The publication of The Braided Rug Book by Norma Sturges in 1995 prompted a group of her former students to get together in January of 1996 with the thought of forming a rug braiders guild. We all agreed to keep things simple with little structure. There would be no dues, no officers and no rules. Surprisingly, this has worked well, and the Rocky Mountain Rug Braiders Guild continues to this day with the same format.

We currently meet twice a month at two different locations. One meeting is at an area church, however, we hold no religious affiliation. The other meeting is held a local Heritage Center. We welcome anyone interested in the craft of rug braiding. All are welcome.

The purpose of the guild is to perpetuate and enhance the craft of rug braiding, and to share our knowledge and skill with any who has an interest. This guild is associated with rug braiding guilds and clubs across the country.

Joining is easy – just attend a meeting and see if we are a good fit for you. We can assist with knowledge and locating material needed to be a rug braider. It is just that easy.
